Target:
Investigation of the archaeological ground monument for the Documentation and
Meeting place within the former Prisoners' Camp „SS Sonderlager Hinzert“.
Operations and results:
High-resolution geomagntics were applied on an area of 4 hectare to achieve a non-destructive
prospection of any existing relicts of the former Prisoners' Camp.
The magnetogram shows an nearly complete building-overview as well as details concerning the
use of individual parts of the buildings in the Prisoners' Camp. The magnetic amplitudes produced
by the structures partly reach ±1000 nanoTesla/m.
