3D METHODS FOR DETAILED INVESTIGATION
Pompeii is a well known and a well investigated example for Roman town planning.
Its origin and genesis, however, are partly not yet known.
There is a need of action but at the same time restricted excavation possibilities similar as at many more classic sites.
Current research projects turn to non-destructive methods, particularly to 3D methods for the detailed exploration.
The results provide the basis for reconstruction models.
