CASTLES AND MONASTERIES
The application of geophysical methods in Middle Ages archaeology ranges from the prospection of deserted settlements and fortifications to the research at existing objects.
For the examination of castles, monasteries and other complex buildings we usually use a combination of GPR and Geoelectrical Tomography. Thus, solid structures, like walls and foundations, as well as refilled ditches, pits and fountains can be located. At open areas high-resolving geomagnetics delivers maps of the structures.
